Park City, UT — December 11, 2025 — The Sundance Film Festival has officially selected TheyDream, the groundbreaking feature-length hybrid animated documentary from award-winning filmmaker William D. Caballero, to world premiere in the festival’s boldly innovative NEXT category. Supported by public media institutions including ITVS and Latino Public Broadcasting, the film merges live action, mixed-media animation, and vérité intimacy to examine how one Puerto Rican family confronts grief, memory, and healing through the act of creation.

The Sundance Institute announced today 90 feature films, including the competition titles, and seven episodic projects that will screen at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, the final edition to be held in Park City, UT.

Some of the biggest names in documentary film will be descending on Park City, Utah next month for the final edition of Sundance in the mountain town.
